Welcome to the Valley of Coudersport, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. We are
a fraternity that believes in the Fatherhood of God and the Brotherhood of Man and are deeply
bound by our Core Values of Integrity, Justice, Service to Humanity, Tolerance, Devotion to
Country, and Reverence for God. Our Valley is located in Potter County, Pennsylvania, referred
to far and wide as “God’s Country.” Since 1896 our facility has been one of the most majestic
buildings in the County. Welcome to our site!

Dear Brethren and Ladies,

I am writing to welcome you to, “Come Back to Coudersport Consistory!”  Whether you are a consistent attendee of our reunions and events or joined and have not yet been active, I welcome you to accompany us on our journey through Remembrance, Youth, Manhood, and Maturity.  These themes will be evident throughout the next four reunions.

Before our fall reunion, I look forward to hosting the Lester Beers Memorial Golf Outing at Scottish Heights Golf Course in Brockport, PA on July 18, 2026.  Our next chance for fellowship is the Valley of Coudersport Picnic at Parker Dam on August 8, 2026.  Bring a side dish and your family and friends!  Hotdogs, hamburgers, cornhole, a water balloon toss and much more await us in this picturesque park setting.  Then put aside some fun money to spend at our Gun Bash on October 3, 2026.  This is one of our largest fundraisers with good people, great food, and chances to win big!  Remember this when selling tickets to coworkers, family, and friends!

Our fall reunion is October 15 – 17, 2026.  This reunion will focus on our ancestors and how important making memories is for our Valley.  We will have a photographer available on Friday and Saturday afternoons, so get ready for your close-up, headshot, couple or group picture to commemorate our time together!  We are also bringing back the Saturday evening dinner with entertainment from Mr. Kazam, two-time Magician of the Year from Dubois, PA, who will be entertaining us with strolling magic before, and a comedy magic show after dinner!  Let’s make new memories together!  Look for details in the sign-up sheet to be mailed with the August issue of the Valley Voice newsletter.  If you don’t receive this quarterly newsletter, please contact the office at 814-274-8490.

Men, our fall reunion will be one of Remembrance. Remembering our families, friends, masonic brothers, the rich history of the Coudersport Consistory, and the history of our country.  In addition to the 250th Anniversary of our country, it is also the 25th Anniversary of 9/11 when our great country was attacked by a ruthless enemy.  Join myself, our brothers, and wives for a 9/11 presentation Friday evening after dinner to remember and to honor those men and women who sacrificed their lives that day and thereafter.  Before the Saturday evening dinner, let’s toast our successful degree work with a whiskey tasting hour.

Ladies, you will be going back in time at the Eliot Ness Museum where volunteers in period dress will entertain you with the early days of Potter County.  You will have a luncheon at the West End Grill, and the Potter County Artisan Cooperative will teach you water coloring techniques with your own set of cards to take home.

Please help me to realize my focus of engaging our membership for participation and comment.  My contact information is above, and I welcome your feedback as I welcome you to, “Come Back to Coudersport Consistory!”

Sincerely and fraternally,

Why Become Scottish Rite?

Although there is no higher degree than that of a Master Mason, the 29 degrees of the Scottish Rite serve to enrich the philosophy of the Symbolic Lodge. A Mason who chooses to further his Masonic experience by becoming a 32° Scottish Rite Mason will be expanding upon the fundamental principles of Freemasonry. In the Scottish Rite, you will indeed find an untold wealth of knowledge. It will teach you more about Masonry. It will answer some of the questions raised in the blue lodge degrees. It is a sort of “graduate course” in Masonic teachings. In fact, it aids, supplements and reinforces the blue lodge in every way. As organizations, these bodies are mutually dependent because they strengthen each other. By joining Scottish Rite, you have an opportunity to expand upon your knowledge of Freemasonry, to widen your circle of friends, and to serve humanity in unique ways.

How to join Scottish Rite

Freemasonry is a fraternity whose membership must be sought by the candidate. So, in other words, to be a Mason, ask a Mason how to become a member. To become a Scottish Rite Mason, you must first be a Master Mason. You can then complete a membership application to join a Scottish Rite Valley near you and begin your journey towards becoming a 32° Scottish Rite Mason.
